Teams from Scotland, the Isle of Man, and Wales headed to Trondheim Norway to take part in the Northern European championships this weekend. In the team competition fielding a very young team without any of their four British junior squad members, the Welsh ladies Espies Paige Thomas, and Sioned Thomas and junior Emily Thomas, along with senior Rebecca Moore competing on just one event took bronze in the team competition.
Scotland’s Erin McLachlan, Cara Kennedy, Shannon Archer, Sofia Ramzan, and junior Isla Warr placed fifth.
The Isle of Man’s Isabel Hester, Nicole Burns, Madison Nicole, Aoife Donnelly and Grace Harrison placed eighth.
In the AA competition, three Brits in the top ten, with Scotland’s Erin Mclachlan placing 4th, and Wales’ Paige Thomas the second placed junior (and top Espoir) finishing 5th, and Emily Thomas ninth.
Apparatus finals saw Sioned Thomas take silver for Wales, and Shannon Archer 7th for Scotland on vault. Emily Thomas took the bars title for Wales, with Paige Thomas in 5th. Erin McLachlan took silver for Scotland on beam, Sioned Thomas silver for Wales on floor, with Scotland’s Shannon Archer 4th, and Erin Mclaughlin 7th.
