Just before competition season really kicks off here, gymnasts from West Wales, City of Birmingham, and Sapphire travelled to Florida to take part in the Magical Classic. I like the growing trend for trips early in the year to the US to take part in various competitions, a great warm up for the British then international season, as well as an overall fantastic experience for all gymnasts involved.

Competition was split into US levels, with the British gymnasts contesting levels 6-10. There was no elite level here, but if there were, seniors Gabby Jupp and Megan Parker, and junior Taeja James have all achieved high enough AA scores to qualify as elites under the US system. All scores are out of ten, rather than under the open code.

The gymnasts were split into different age groups within their levels, with lots of success both AA and individually.

Members from all three British national squads were present, from the senior squad Gabby Jupp and Megan Parker, from the junior squad Taeja James, Megan Splain, and Sioned Thomas, and from the development squad Miriam Allen, and Sofia Meadows.

I have pulled out the British results only, from 182 rounds of competition!

Congratulations to all gymnasts and coaches, there are going to be a lot of much heavier bags on the way home with all the medals and trophies!
