L-R Amelie Morgan, Taeja James, Jolie Ruckley, Laura Beasley, Phoebe Jacubczy, Zoe Simmons
Full report to follow, for now, detailed results from today’s junior AA competition. Congratulations go to Taeja James from City of Birmingham, she looked a champion all day, and took the title with 53.950 even counting a fall on beam on her new and difficult roundoff straight back.
Amelie Morgan of Slough took silver with 53.050, beautiful clean work as ever from Ameile, a big step up or her into this level of competition in this type of setting this year, and she handled the pressure very well.
2015 British Espoir Champion Jolie Ruckley has been missing from competition since taking that title, as she has been recovering from injury. It was great to see her back and competing so well, I imagine she will be delighted with her result today.
I explain the bonus system in place for the competition here:
Taeja received 0.2 for her full out dismount on bars, 0.2 for her new triple twist beam dismount, and 0.2 for her two and a half dismount of floor.
Amelie received 0.2 for her full in off bars, 0.1 for sticking her double tuck on floor, and 0.2 for her double twisting straight front dismount.
